Post Concussion Syndrome

Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS) is also know as Post Traumatic Syndrome (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Chronic Brain Syndrome (CBS).

When the brain is subjected to injury by an external force the result can become Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS).

PCS interferes with the way the brain works.

Changing the brain process impairs the ability to think, do and know.

It changes the personality and produces rapid mood swings.

It affects the person's attention span, concentration and social interaction.

It causes depression, fatigue and the inability to work or learn.

Putting thoughts into words is very difficult.

Focusing on anything for a period of time is exhausting.......such as driving or balancing a check book.

Impossible to organize anything.

Panic attacks.

If you suffer from PCS just do the best that you can one day at a time.

Patience and persistence will pay off. Do not be discouraged by how long it takes for the brain to heal. It will heal. Life will get easier and better.

God bless!

I am a Big Football fan..I love the CHIEFS..Trent Green, among many other football players suffer from concussions....(i believe this was his 5th concussion)few people are aware of what happens to the brain..and what actually happens to the thinking process..after that incredible hit he took last season, he was unable to drive for 6 months....and now he is playing with the Miami Dolphins, he left Kansas City.....what was he thinking.....he clearly wasn't!!!...:)
i love you mom and i have seen first hand what you go through and i know someone will be encouraged by this blog, if anything they will now be INFORMED!...and possibly
more understanding and encouraged! Thanks for keeping it real!
