Quilt Class

Today was my second class. I need to change "class" to "circle" as it's a bunch of ladies who love to sew.

The majority are making quilts, beautiful quilts. One lady designs her own, another is making a quilt for someone who's giving it to his girlfriend as a gift. Said quilt is made from T-shirts, using the design on the front. One lady is making a quilt for charity.
We have cross stitch going on, applique on another,

I'm finding that quilting is as easy as my friends have been telling me all these years.
These wonderful ladies know all the short cuts and are extremely free with the "how to". Several have given me ideas, none of which I would ever have thought of, for my little square of shadow applique.

And last, but not least....one of the women started talking about her daughter whom she lost to cancer. Within this conversation we found there were three of us who lost daughters in their early 30's to illness.

It's not so lonely out there after all.

God bless, my friends.

Oh girl, I love to quilt. I thought when I moved up here and had more room that I would do just that. I finished a baby quilt that I started in Austin and gave it to Elizabeth when she was born and nothing since and she is now 9 years old. But baby setting Kami until she started Kindergarten took a lot of time. I don't regret the time spent with her now. She will be in first grade when school starts next year.

Boy, how time is flying. Take care and enjoy.
