Charlie's Soup

Hey Charlie! Want some potato soup?

I could whisper that question at my house and Charlie and the boys would be able to hear it two blocks away with a resounding YES!

This is a recipe I got from a co-worker many years ago. It is delicious and can be modified a dozen different ways. At my house it gets modified depending on who's getting the soup. This is my latest version for Charlie and the boys. It turned out better than the last one, if that's at all possible.

Ingredients: 5# potatoes
2 or 3 celery stalks cut into small pieces
Butter or margarine
8 oz. Cheeze Whiz
Large can of Cream of Chicken Soup
1 Pkg. Johnsonville Beddar with Cheddar Smoked Sausage
1 can Condensed Milk

I washed the potatoes, cut into fourths, and steamed them.

Melt butter/margarine in a large pot and add celery. Cook to desired consistency.

Add water to l/2 way up the pot. Add Cream of Chicken Soup and stir until smooth. When it gets hot I stir in the Cheeze Whiz.

Brown the smoked sausage.

Cut the potatoes into bite size and add to the soup. Stir. Add enough water to cover the potatoes.

Cut the sausage into bite size and add to the soup. Stir.

Add the can of Condensed Milk. Stir. Heat through.

Now to call Charlie for a "drive thru"!

Yum! Potato soup!

Darlene, the Potato Soup sounds good. I have not ever made a good Potato Soup so I will have to try this out one of these days.

I already love Stover Lane so keep writing.
