Brownie

For years I have been saying "when this pet goes I'm not getting another".

And just before I lose that pet another homeless animal shows up at my door. How can I say no to a starving animal? I can't.

Missy had been telling me for years that I needed a dog. "No thanks", I'd say, "I've got cats and they do not like dogs" or "I don't have a yard therefore no dog".

One day, after another one of these conversations with Missy, I had my own conversation with God. I started discussing dogs with Him. If....and that's a very BIG if....I ever did get a dog what kind of dog would I want.

In the end I settled on a Chocolate Lab.

Fast forward eight years and what shows up at my house.....a Chocolate Lab. Not just any old Chocolate Lab but a two year old, fully trained, house broken and spayed.

She needed me and I needed her.

She is a daily reminder that God hears us, whether we are praying or just having a one sided conversation. She is a daily reminder of how much our Lord loves us and knows what we need and when we need it.

Life can be hard.... and painful. People can be hurtful, unkind and some can be downright mean. Life can also feel overwhelming and beyond our control....beyond understanding. But through it all our Lord is there and sometimes, when there's only one set of footprints, He's carrying us.

God bless, my friends.

Did God send me Crackers? She sure did need someone, maybe I needed her and didn't know it.

She wanted to get up at 4:30 this morning. I said, "no way". I put her towel over her and went back to bed.

We got up at 6 just the way we should. :)

She had her med's and ate her breakfast and is back asleep already. Smart dog.

Where am I? On the computer!!! Have a Blessed Day.

Thank God your kindness to animals and blessing you with such sweeties. It is indeed encouraging to remember that God loves us and knows our every need.

Btw, you have just been tagged! It's a simple game. Come over to my blog and you will know the details.

Take care!
